MANCHESTER UNITED HAVE REACHED AN AGREEMENT FOR THEIR POTENTIAL FIRST SUMMER SIGNING
The Manchester Club is said to have reached a deal to land Brazilian midfielder to hand Jose Mourinho his first summer signing as
United look to strengthen their midfield options after a disappointing end to the season.
As Metro.co.uk revealed earlier this week, United believe they have been in the driving seat to sign Fred for the last few months as Manchester City have diverted their interest towards Napoli’s Jorginho.
But United were threatening to pull out of the deal after becoming frustrated with Fred stalling over a move to Old Trafford.
United had also feared that Paris Saint-Germain were in the running to sign the Brazilian and were not prepared to wait for the midfielder’s decision until after Brazil’s World Cup campaign.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, United have now agreed a deal to sign Fred from Shakhtar.
Fred and his agent will be in Liverpool next week as Brazil play Croatia in a warm-up friendly against Croatia at Anfield and the deal could be concluded then.
Mourinho is desperate for United to secure their summer targets before the World Cup begins and the club’s hierarchy made it clear to Fred’s camp that they would not allow the deal to drag on for weeks.
