Premier
League top four hopefuls Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur meet at Anfield
this weekend, with both sides knowing defeat will surely end any
remaining title ambitions.
TOTTENHAM HAVE A SOLID CENTRE
I enjoy watching the Victor Wanyama-Mousa
Dembele partnership in Tottenham's midfield. Dembele is an excellent
footballer. With Dele Alli breaking forward, Dembele is able to sit with
Wanyama but he still offers creativity that not many players have.
Wanyama
is the tank in midfield who covers well. While he is not as mobile as
Chelsea's N'Golo Kante, Wanyama has good technical ability and has got
to be one of the best value-for-money signings of the season.
Wanyama and Dembele complement each other so well and can mix it with anyone in the Premier League.
Liverpool need to get beyond Tottenham's
strong midfield and ask questions of Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld.
Dier plays better in a back three but Spurs, with Danny Rose injured,
are likely to play a back four.
Liverpool's attacking trident of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane can take the initiative.
Jurgen Klopp is gifted at making people
feel good and that doesn't disappear on a run of bad results. He will
have been working all week to restore confidence.
Liverpool
have enough to secure a Champions League place but must improve big
time. If they lose to Spurs they will be on a slide that I cannot see
them reversing.
