Tony Bellew crowned WBC World Cruiserweight champion with BRUTAL knockout

Tony Bellew has been crowed World Cruiserweight champion after he emphatically defeated Ilunga Makabu at Goodison Park on Sunday night.
Makabu, who has proven to be a dangerous heavy handed puncher, landed a clean left hand on the whistle of the first round to send 33-year-old Bellew to the deck after
initially dominating the round.
Tony Bellew recovered well from the knock down and came out firing in the third round, Makabu happy to take the punches from the Liverpudlian but Bellew’s power proved too much and  a barrage of huge shots from Bellew left Makabu out cold.
With some distress around the state of Makabu’s health after the referee ended the fight, Bellew was able to celebrate his WBC World Cruiserweight title.

‘I got knocked down but that’s what I do,’ Bellew said after the fight.
‘I told you I am Everton. that’s why I got up. Nothing was going to stop me tonight. I cried in the dressing room two hours ago when I got here. I achieved the dream tonight, I am world champion, that’s what I am.
‘I believe in my coach and these people around me. My dad, my missus, my sons, I do it all for them. So much credit to a lot of people
‘The only thing I have to say is EVERTON! EVERTON!’ as the Goodison Park crowd joins in the chants.
‘The last time I saw that was in a Hollywood film Michael Buffer was here tonight!’
